GSfMO #284. The authors of "Chasing Greatness - Johnny Miller, Arnold Palmer and the Miracle at Oakmont" Adam Lazarus and Steve Schlossman, return to give an amazingly detailed recap of the historic 1973 US Open. They cover each of the four rounds, the top tour players who were all in contention, and Johnny Miller's miracle finish that remains as the lowest score ever in a major and one of the greatest rounds in US Open history.

This is a very long episode. I'd like to get your feedback on the length.

GSfMO#283. 1973 US Open at Oakmont. For many golfers that says it all. During the golden era of golf when names like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Lee Trevino were among the most popular athletes, young Johnny Miller came out of nowhere on Sunday to capture the title and the world. Chasing Greatness relives one of the greatest weekends in golf history and in this episode the authors join host Fred Greene to share how this book came to be and why the story needed to be told.

In Part 1, Adam Lazarus and Steve Schlossman discuss the major players of the story and the legendary history of Oakmont, known as the most difficult course on the Tour. Next time in part 2, Adam and Steve take nearly 1.5 hours to describe how the four days unfolded and the amazing ending of the Tournament.

GSfMO#282 Part 2 on a new book by America's top women instructors. Lynn Marriott joins us for close to an hour explaining how "playing with what you have" will result in lower scores. Single minded focus on swing mechanics is not taking full advantage of all the tools you have available. Pick a swing theory that fits for you and make sure it's something you can physically do, then Vision 54 can help you take it to the next level. This week we touch on the remaining 8 essential playing skills.
