Our contribution to St. Patrick's Day is a quote on putting Mulligans. "Counting on your opponent to inform you when he breaks a rule is like expecting him to make fun of his own haircut."

Make sure we hear from you on a great discussion currently going on in our GOLF SMARTER Facebook group. Titled "Course Value", what do you pay for a round of golf?

With the proper tools you can easily fix your swing. It's not rocket science according to Chuck Quinton of RotarySwing.com, and a simple, effortless, powerful swing can be learned with good instruction. Chuck rarely discusses the backswing, but focuses on how the body coordinates the movement to power the swing. If you're familiar with, or a fan of Jim Hardy's teachings, then you'll gain a tremendous amount from this conversation. This week's quote was provided by Chris Coughlin, who is also part of our Facebook group. "Counting on your opponent to inform you when he breaks a rule is like expecting him to make fun of his own haircut." * Send us your favorite golf quote to use at the end of the program. In the beginning of golf, all clubs were the same length. With the advent of steel shafts, mass production, R&D and huge marketing budgets by major manufacturers, we've been convinced that every club needs to be a different length to be effective. But isn't the most important element in the variables of distance the angle of the club face? David Lake, founder of 1 Iron Golf believes that common sense dictates the equipment is as simple as the game, and are being sold a bill of goods. Win a custom built set of 1 Iron Golf clubs, 3-PW. Click on the Contest tab at http://GolfSmarter.com. Deadline for entries is April 3, 2009. Click on the "1 Iron Golf" banner on the top of the contest entry page to find out more. Make sure that you use GOLF SMARTER as your checkout code if you order clubs because you'll receive a free set of head covers. There's a new discussion posted this week on our GOLF SMARTER group at facebook.com, join the conversation, share your thoughts, videos, and photos. This week's quote was provided by Richie Pechner of San Rafael, CA. "If you had purchased $1000 of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, today it would be worth $49. If you had purchased $1000 of shares in AIG one year ago, today you have $33. If you had purchased $1000 of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago, today it's worth zero. But---- if you had purchased $1000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for a recycling refund, you will receive $214. Based on this data, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle. It's called the 401-Keg." * Send us your favorite golf quote to use at the end of the program.
